Tournament Sanctioning Application


Before applying, please make sure to fully review all of the benefits and requirements for the tournament sanctioning program to ensure that you understand the program. Once you feel that tournament sanctioning is right for your event, you can apply for sanctioning approval by submitting your application and sanctioning fee. 

Championship Events (HS States, TCT Events, Beach and Club and College post season) Please go to Champ Events page for more information.

Development Insurance (practice/tryouts, pickup, camps/clinics) please apply through the USA Ultimate Development Insurance program.

League Sanctioning please apply through the League Sanctioning Program.

*Sanctioning fee is waived for affiliates unless the application is submitted 2 weeks prior for a regular season event and then there is a $110 fee.

  •  No Applications will be accepted within 9 business days of the event (too little time left for USAU staff to set things up & serve you effectively).
  • Applications are considered incomplete until payment is received. (If you submit your application before the 6 week deadline but submit payment after the 6 weeks you will pay the additional sanctioning fee). If you have any concerns or special circumstances please contact the sanctioning manager at Sanctioning@usaultimate.org to discuss. 
  • There is a $25 non-refundable processing fee when you cancel your application (for any reason) before the start of the event. This will be withheld from the sanctioning application fee paid. Cancellations after the event start will result in a complete forfeit of the sanctioning application fee. Late fees are non-refundable.


Tournament Directors must meet the following requirements for sanctioning (there will be delays in setting up your event if you do not meet all of these requirements)

  1. TD Must be a Current Member
  2. TD Must have a Current Waiver
  3. TD must be Certified through the TDCP (You do not need to be certified to submit the application, just have registered and paid for the clinic at time of submission)
  4. Submit Payment
  5. Submit Application


Pay via Paypal or Credit Card

Choose your corresponding fee(s) from the payments page to be directed to Paypal and submit your application fee. Either include the PayPal transaction ID in your application or forward your PayPal e-mail receipt to teal@hq.usaultimate.org

  • Applications are considered incomplete until all associated sanctioning fees are received by USA Ultimate.

Once all materials (application and associated fees) have been received by USA Ultimate, the listed organizers for the event will be notified regarding the status of the application. Upon application approval and processing, the Sanctioning Manager will contact the organizers regarding the next steps and instructions for managing their event. If you have any concerns about the status of your application, you can contact sanctioning@usaultimate.org.
