Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 1, 2020) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States and member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, today announced Patrick Sherlock as head coach of the 2021 U-24 Mixed National Team.

Sherlock returns to the team after helping lead the 2019 U-24 Mixed National Team to a gold medal in Germany last year as an assistant coach. In addition to his success with the national team, Sherlock was recently named a 2019 College Coach of the Year by USA Ultimate for his work with the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s ultimate team, and he has won back-to-back mixed division titles at the National Championships as head coach of Philadelphia AMP.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to join all the players, coaches and staff representing the United States on the U-24 Mixed National Team,” commented Sherlock. “It was an honor to be part of the 2019 delegation, and I am eager to start building the team that will compete in 2021.”

Announced late last year, Bob Krier and Nancy Sun will return to their roles as head coaches of the Men’s and Women’s National Teams, respectively, for the 2021 cycle. Dates and the location of the World Flying Disc Federation’s 2021 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships have not yet been announced.

With the head coaching positions now filled, assistant coach applications for all three 2021 U-24 National Teams are now open. Interested coaches should submit applications by April 26 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
