Colorado Springs, Colo. (March 20, 2019) – The USA Ultimate Board of Directors was in Colorado Springs this weekend for their annual winter meeting. In addition to discussing topics such as equity, diversity and inclusion and upcoming changes to the official rules of ultimate, among other subjects, the board elected new officers and determined committee assignments for the 2019 calendar year.

Robyn Fennig is the board’s new president and will serve a two-year term. Fennig was elected to the board as an elite-athlete representative beginning in 2018 and served as board treasurer last year. She replaces outgoing President DeAnna Ball, who was not eligible to run for another term in the role.

Tyler Kinley was elected vice president. Like Fennig, he is also in his second year on the board of directors. Josh Seamon was elected as treasurer and will replace Fennig in the role. Heather Ann Brauer was chosen to continue in her role as board secretary.

“I am really excited to take on this challenge and to help implement a strategic plan that reflects the community and where we want to go,” said Fennig. “We have a lot of opportunities to keep telling our story and show why ultimate’s vision of inclusion, growth, competition and community is great for the world of sports. This is immensely important if we want to grow in a way that reflects diversity, equity and inclusion, the lens the community identified as most important to apply in our new strategic plan. The USA Ultimate Board of Directors is enthusiastic about the priorities identified in the plan and ensuring they are carried out through USA Ultimate’s programs and services. The energy and enthusiasm in this board is something that motivates me to take on more for our sport.”

The directors also determined assignments for the board’s standing committees and working groups for the coming year:

  • Audit and Ethics
  • Governance and Board Development
  • Nominating
  • Judicial
  • Spirit, Officiating and Rules (SOaR)
  • Compensation
  • Investment
  • Marketing, Communications and Sponsorships
  • Equity and Diversity
  • Competition

Committee rosters are outlined on the USA Ultimate website
