Providing a glimpse into the future of elite-level ultimate, the WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships occur every two years, shining a spotlight on the world’s best young ultimate players under the age of 20. A flourishing high school and youth club scene in the United States creates a deep pool of talent, resulting in both a highly competitive tryout process for athletes and difficult choices for USA Ultimate coaches. Since Team USA began competing in the event in 1988, no team in either the open, mixed or women’s divisions has finished off the podium, collectively winning 16 gold, six silver and six bronze medals.
