Tournament Sanctioning Application

Before applying, please make sure to fully review all of the benefits and requirements for the tournament sanctioning program to ensure that you understand the program. Once you feel that tournament sanctioning is right for your event, you can apply for sanctioning approval by submitting your application and sanctioning fee. 

Leagues please apply through the USA Ultimate League Sanctioning program.

Other Events (hat tournaments, practices/tryouts, camps/clinics, pick-up games) please apply through the USA Ultimate Insurance Program.

 

Regular Season Application and Fee Deadlines 

  • At least 6 weeks prior to the event pay only $100 (Save $100).
  • At least 3 weeks (15 Business Days for USAU staff to set things up) prior to the event pay $200.
  • At least 2 Weeks (10 Business Days for USAU staff to set things up) prior to the event pay $300 ($200 plus $100 late fee).
  • Sanctioning fee is waived for affiliates unless the application is submitted 2 weeks prior for a regular season event and then there is a $100 late fee.
  • No Applications will be accepted within 9 business days of the event (too little time left for USAU staff to set things up & serve you effectively).
  • Applications are considered incomplete until payment is received. (If you submit your application before the 6 week deadline but submit payment after the 6 weeks you will pay the additional sanctioning fee). If you have any concerns or special circumstances please contact the sanctioning manager at Sanctioning@usaultimate.org to discuss. 
  • There is a $25 non-refundable processing fee when you cancel your application (for any reason) before the start of the event. This will be withheld from the sanctioning application fee paid. Cancellations after the event start will result in a complete forfeit of the sanctioning application fee. Late fees are non-refundable.

 

Non-Regular Season Application and Fee Deadlines

  • At least 3 weeks (15 Business Days for USAU staff to set things up) prior to your event pay $100.
  • At least 2 Weeks (10 Business Days for USAU staff to set things up) prior to your event pay $200 ($100 plus $100 late fee).
  • No Applications will be accepted within 9 business days of the event (too little time left for USAU staff to set things up & serve you effectively).
  • Applications are considered incomplete until payment is received. (If you submit your application before the 6 week deadline but submit payment after the 6 weeks you will pay the additional sanctioning fee). Tournament Directors must meet the following requirements for sanctioning (there will be delays in setting up your event if you do not meet all of these requirements)

  • TD Must be a Current Member
  • TD Must have a Current Waiver
  • TD must be Certified through the TDCP
  • Submit Payment
  • Submit Application

 

Pay via Paypal

Choose your corresponding fee(s) from the payments page to be directed to Paypal and submit your application fee. Either include the PayPal transaction ID in your application or forward your PayPal e-mail receipt to sanctioning@usaultimate.org

Communication

Once all materials (application and associated fees) have been received by USA Ultimate, the listed organizers for the event will be notified regarding the status of the application. Upon application approval and processing, the Sanctioning Manager will contact the listed organizers regarding the next steps and instructions for managing their event. If you have any concerns about the status of your application, you can always contact sanctioning@usaultimate.org.
